Emergence in Biologic Systems--an Example

Every so often here at the World Complex, we like to take some time off working on the relatively simple problems of climate change, earthquake prediction, the dynamics of interrelated economic systems, and sudden state changes in everything from wind patterns to empires; and focus on the really challenging problems of life.
